@boardreview Going back to Canada - handsome88

Hello boardreview

I am in a similar situation as you. I want to go back to Canada after residency. Though I'm interested in Cards, I think that would be impossible to get in Canada if I'm outside. So what I thought was, if I didn't get cards in the US, I could do 2 years of critical care medicine in Canada which is 2 years.

Is that possible?

Also I saw you speak about the repatriation program or something. Is that the same thing as the 4th pathway? I read a little about it but was confused, it seemed like you had to be done your residency (pgy3) first.

What exams do we have to write before applying to fellowship in Canada and when? I wrote the MCCEE and NAC-OSCE.

Are electives in Canada important, what if my program doesn't allow away electives?

there is two repartitaion pathways one to complete the residency program, one to do fellowship.

Away electives are perfect ways to get the LOR from the Canadian system but all in all, is easier .

Once you match tell me where you are I can help you more.
