2)DT's,siezures, 3)long acting bz like chlordiazepoxide or short acting like diazepam. i think. correct me if iam wrong.

lorazepam is better than diezepam , esp in alcoholics for short term therapy.
chlordiazepoxide is better for long term therapy.

both chlordiazepoxide and diazepam are long acting

chlordiazepoxide (librium), and diazepam (valium) are long acting benzodiazepine.
3d is talking about Lorazepam which is Medium acting Benzodiazepine, and is recommended in DTs specially if there is liver compromise, while Alprozolam withdrawl could be managed with Long acting benzodiazepines.
