its possible if some candidate accepted and later said no/any visa problem...stay in contact with the program if many positions went for prematch..GL

Another possible situation is, someone who is a PGY1 is going to do PGY2 in other program, then the current program will have one more position open. They may fill it with another PGY2, or PGY1. If they want to do a PGY1, then it has to be through prematch, since the final quota is out there already.

yes.. but not from Quota submitted to NRMP. NRMP Quota is guaranteed as of 31st jan.
