ANP constrict the efferent arteriole--- increases GFR causing increases loss of NA and water= dec in bp
angiotensin ii also constricts the efferent increases GFR - inc bp
im confused both constrict and have opposite effects??

ANP also has a natriuretic action on the Pct so it leads to the loss of both h2o & Na..
AT-2 constrricts both afferent & efferent arteriole but has higher constiction on efferent arteriole..but since it also constricts the afferent and mesangium it decrease the glomerular filtration surface area that does increase the GFR significantly....
also angiotensin-2 increases aldosterone significantly thus retainig Na & H2o..
ccorrect me if im wrong.....

so i guess the underlying important fact lies with ALDOSTERONE both initally have the same mech but since ANGiO 11 stimulates aldosterone release it retains Na and H20 thus the reason y they have opposing bp effects...thank YOU !!
