Re: Waiver of informed consent: occurs when pt indicates that he does not want to be told information that concerns a specific procedure OR wants the physician to make the decision for him. The doctor has to challenge the patient's desire for the waiver at first, to insure that the patient understands the implications of what he is asking for and then the M.D. has to clearly document the discussion in the chart.
