this is not right.
In AS, more blood should increase murmur. HOCM is opposite.
In AS, more blood need longer time to pump out, so the murmur increase. But in HOCM, more blood will decrease the stenosis, so murmur decrease. Remember, only HOCM and MVP, more blood less murmur.

But I do agree ben's explaination on phenylepinephrine.

petefaye, Amyl Nitrate causes Vasodilation so decreased preload, less blood more murmur in case of HOCM
