i heard the score matters for a fellowship match. not sure though. better get a decent score than be sorry.

I have also heard that step 3 score comes into play when you are applying for fellowships..therefore the higher the score the better

Can anybody improve on step 3? I tried to reapply and the website was accepting application until payment, so i stopped???

step 3 although not needed to get into residency,
a grade of > 90 has its advantages
1. of the three scores, correlates best with residency outcome (acad med)
2.may help in fellowship placement(no data on if it really does)
3.you dont have to be worrying about it during internship(difficult to do step 3 and intership at the same time,you might know your im but peds ob surg will be a distant memory)
4. many will obtain >90 in step 1 and 2 but it is not as common in step 3

i definately will be doing step 3 before internship,and will be grateful to obtain a grade of >90(irrespective of the h1 visa motivation)
