I graduated 1990, fortunately I got 3 IV from 70 applications to IM. Dont need visa and have worked in USA for 1 year in research. I think the factor saving me are the scores in the high 90 and a certification in hand and the research here. I will advise to everybody to complete the Step 3 and get involved somehow in a clinic for research or wathever. So even is frustarting the situation for all of us, there is a way to work it through. Dont lose the hope.

I really do not know what goes wrong.
my step1 235/99, step2 239/99, all first attempt, US PhD from an excellent university, 3 month US clinical experience with hospitalist, YOG>10, no need for visa, >10 publications, 1 book chapter, applied on October 5, 4 LoR (2 PhDs, 2 MDs), no IV invitations so far.
