This is correct. Multiple PDs told me about the "All or none" approach. Programs will have the option of participating the NRMP match for all spots, or prematch all spots. They have to choose one or the other, they can't do both.

So when folks say that that "there will be no prematches in 2012 match" that is not true because there will be a number of programs that will be going the 100% match route. But then overall, here will be reduced number of pre-match positions available i believe.

Take it if you dont want to pursue fellowship.

If you want to pursue fellowship please consider other parameters and how many residents over the last 3 years have be accepted as fellows.
