DOs can apply to both MD and DO match. When a program has specific spots for DO applicant that mean you need to be a DO and participate in DO match to get these spots, however, you can still participate in the MD match unless you matched in DO which occur before.

Thank you cadet. I forgot about this in between.....One of the program I ranked is dual.

They have 7 spots - I see in this chart that they have put 3 spots as total for AOA - 2 people matched and that leaves 1 unfilled....That means 5 ACGME sopts pending right or does unfilled AOA spots are kept for AOA only??? who knows.....

Jennashell if the program has 7 spots and aoa matched 3 then that leaves 4 for the MD match. you can confirm this by going to the nrmp peogram report to see how much quota they have. it should show 4

@ Cadet , its not that simple. Post AOA match, the applicants and programs can contact each other to fill the unfilled positions. So the AOA match list only shows the minimum number of spots that were taken. Of course the unfilled positions may have been assigned after the AOA match, which this list does not show.

@Onlybyhiswill I'm referring to aoa programs who used up their max quota for aoa match

The point is any leftover after the AOA post match is left to ACGME and not the information on the list does not include AOA post match
