AMGs have priority. They should get positions over any IMG or US-IMG out there and programs know this.
That's why AMGs apply with 1 or 2 exams or less than stellar scores and match, it's a completely different approach in the same system. They do not need visas, they do not need to prove that they can handle the american system and they are fresh out of medical school with things like research during undergraduate and shiny golden LORs.

The topic should be, as an IMG (needing additional consideration and not passing the initial filters because of YOG, low scores or no USCE), should I call or email the PC/PD? And the answer to that question is still: No.
