2001 grad,done pg in surgery back home. 87/99/cs/92 all first attempt. hubby matched for fellowship in UC Davis, so Im restricted geographically to in and around Sacramento.
I applied mid-sept everywhere. no iv so far......
One more rej fron California pacific IM today....its raining rejections!!!

hey oldspouse, u have gr8 creds...u shud have gotten sum ivs although Cali if very touch for IMGs. Do you have usce and US LORs? Your scores r gr8, shud try surgery if already done in home country....probably will have some chance at least if u wanna stay near ur spouse....ya raining rejections from Cali for me too......GL

cafe, this is CA, programs very picky, oldspouse is 2001 grad, good enough reason for many programs in CA to reject.

oldspouse, u have only 2 options. u said ur spouse is doing fellowship, then use connection, else forget CA, and use 2nd option, apply everywhere in USA. u can get residency somewhere in usa, assuming u have gc, or citizen.

look at me, old-grad, good scores, step3, usce, etc, etc, 1-IV in CA, 6 elsewhere. if i applied in CA only, chance of match ??

@cafe, I did 1 year research (surgery again) and 3 observerships, got 4 US LORs. Not a GC or citizen, though. I have a small kid, so I opted out of the killer surgery residency rat race.
@yodedo: I realise that my best (slim) chance is where my spouse matched, so keeping fingers and toes crossed! Also working on plans B, C and D!
