how many glucose are needed to produce one fatty acid?
tricky QS, well NAPDH is required to reduce the acetyl groups added to the fatty acid. Eight Acetyl CoA groups are required to produce palmitate (16:0).
Remember that a fatty acid is derived entirely form acetyl CoA....so just for one fatty acid we need 8 glucose( Glucose--->pyruvate----->Acetil CoA)
