I would demand the following
-> Ask them to pay you 1 years average resident salary
or
-> Ask them to pay for all expenses for eras including applications for this year.

Stop giving false hope to ppl who failed.....could you post the exact contents of the letter you received...it's tough to believe that ECFMG is sending out these letters nearly 9 months later...did they just change the criteria to pass??? if they did, i am sure they made it tougher not easier....Has anyone received this kind of a letter for other steps??

Unfortunately you can't go back in time. And from your post you were saying you could not take part in the scramble, but even if you had as I did, you chnaces are very slim duirng the scamble as most spots are given to people you had interview but failed to match.
So all you can do now is get back the money or start legal action to get money back and move forward & spend your energy/efforts on this years match.

So far we have recd 2 postal mails from ecfmg. 1 letter & another 1 corrected exam report card.

1) revised ecfmg certificate is pending
2) $ reimburement is also pending

It is hard to believe there are only 4 people to whom this has happened.
