yes it is possible as national interest waiver is something which this country will benefit from ur research but u need good letters of reccomendation from well know professors doing research in ur field or related saying that ur work is groundbreaking.....
It only depends on the country of citezenship.;...

GC process depends on country of Birth NOT citizenship. If you are a UK citizen but were born in China then your priority date will be China, NOT UK. Only India, China, Mexico, Philippines, etc have long wait list time and the rest do not have that.

EB1 is highly difficult and you really need to prove that you are at the very top of your field. NIW is slightly less difficult than EB1 but still not easy, need publications, great letters from well known people in the field, etc But it does take time unlike EB1.

All of this does not matter for people who were born in a country that does not have a waitlist like say Monaco, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, etc They get GC if there is a sponsor within 2-3 years.

Also if i look at it objectively, how many publications are required to be considered??and r abstracts in local state journals(like wisconsin journal of medicine, michigan journal of medicine etc) good enough or publications in national journals required like JAMA,NEJM etc
