I can read here sad stories. I am so sorry about that! However, double 99s can get you IVs but cant help you got higher rank. Many factors including how you did your IVs, which programs you went to. 99ers tend to go to good programs (i.e. Univ based...) for IVs and ended up competing with AMGs. It is unpredictable. Again, research just has very little role in IV calls. It could not do the same as it does when you apply for fellowship.

Look forward and keep going guys! You can do it!

sorry to hear about you all not matching.my creds 94 98 84 2007 grad 6mth hands on exp in teaching hosp had 11 ivs in IM last yr and didnt match. this yr did 6mths obs in university and applied to 150 im prog.got 20 ivs and matched.so guys we may not know the reason why we dint match as my application was complete last yr too but dont give up hope believe in god and try to work on your cv. as a mom of two it was never easier for me but as i said dont give up hope and u'l def reach your destiny.believe me if i could get residency you all can get it too...so keep hope and stay positive.never let anyone discourage you from getting wht you want.whn i dint match last yr many discouraged me saying to look for other options.dont listen to them and keep trying u all will succeed.

i dont knw...i got certified late, around mid october but i applied on 1st sept only.
i dont knw wat God has in store for us..i cant go through this again, i had really hoped to get matched, my interviews had gone well, or so i think now.

@ht9: i did nt get any i.v frm univ but univ affliated hosp, wid good no. of img's, maybe im very unlucky.

till now i never believed contacts only helped, possibly coz i never had any, but guess it does matter at the end.

Im happy for those who matched, many of my friends did,we all studied together.

Scramble is a gamble, luck comes here too, im not pinning any hopes.

My mind is blank, numb, i feel a hole has been punched through my heart.
I dont know why am i writing all this here, all my emotions pouring out, i just felt like venting it out

scarmble to me is impossible. I dont know about how others feel. You can give it a try. Just find something to do other than medicine for a couple days, then spend time to think of what happened and what you need to improve. You just got unlucky time. Be strong!
