zkadhem....as most commonly rec larny is involved. inf thyriod a travels along with it , so i thought that might be ligated away frm the gland, so as not to injure rec lyn. i am not at all sure abt this..... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inferior_thyroid_artery
