Hi tipusmle,
My credentials are 85/86/cs-all 1st attempt; step3 76 3rd attempt graduation yr 2006 1 yr family practice in home country 4 months gasto observership in a leading hospital, 1 month Neuro onservership in teaching hospital 4 mnths research experience; no publications need visa applied to 91 IM community programs last year 1 IV; not matched PLease advice. I am interested in IM but am also looking to apply into FM and Neuro. Are my credentials suitable for FM or psych? How do I make my work experience look suitable for FM or psych? What chance do I have??

well, Ill try out my credentials... Step 1 92/222 step 2 Ck 99/250 step 2 cs Passed ( all in one attempt) Step 3: planning to give later this year.. 2007feb grad, British with Visa req + Working in Neurosurgery (home country ever since...) Looking to match in Neurosurgery this year..... or Gen Surgery at the least.. Kindly give me a reckoning of my chances given my credentials... I take your word to be pretty Valid. god Bless you all...

Step 1 first attempt 75 in 1997
Step 2 4 attempt 78 in 1999 Step 2 CS 5 Attempt 2005 ECFMG certificate 2005 then since failed Step 3 multiple times got advice to re-take all step (and step 3) new Step 1 first attempt 199/81 in 2008 new Step 2 CK first attempt 209/86 in 2008 Step 3 fifth attempt awaiting score in a week (2009) Year of graduation 1990 (eastern europe) 2,5 years Neurology residency back home 2.5 years Neuroscience degree from Canada in 1999 Since 2000 working working full time as researcher (publications and stuff...) EAD, in two years will be US citizen USCE three months neurology externship (+LOR'S) in 2008 can't afford to not work full time/no salary What chances if any to get Neurology/Psychiatry/Family Meds residency after I get passing score on Step 3 in this coming match... any other suggestions... thanks in advance.

my credentials are
step1 99/243 step2cs -passed .(1st attempt) step2ck- awaiting result. grad.-march 2009 need visa .h1/j1 my problem is that i dont have my degree yet...my university has not issued.so cant be ecfmg certified and give step3. and my LORs are all from my home country as I cudnt get any USCE. they wil be updated only after sep 1st as i was late in receiving them. shud i apply on Sep 1st or shud i wait for the LORs to be uploaded and then do that. thanks for ur advice.

My credentials are step1 : 85 step2ck:84 cs:pass graduation:Aug2008 need H1/J1 visa got 2U.S. Lors: 2 months observership in family practitioner office& 6 months in a community hospital in IM dept. How many FM/IM programs should i apply? What are my chances? Any suggestions......................... It is 194/79. I am so happy.... Going through the match a second time is never fun.
Your scores are fixed and there is nothing you can do about it. But you can network your way into a program. We will show you how.. We have tips scattered in this forum under scrambleMD giving advice to candidates with one hiccup or the other.
