How many programs needed for match? - sridevi
#51
Dear Sridevi and Prashant,

Thanks for the reply.

My interviews went very well.
I was very confident immediately after comming out.

But after going through other factors like img vs amg
and no of interviews others are getting I lost hope.

I did not get any communication from PD but I got a message from resident asking me to apply for the preliminary in time.

Prashanth,

R u sure that if the no. of seats in the match quota in the same specialty is >100, our chances of matching is high? Because, I calculated that for me and added them up, and it comes to 324 according to last year NRMP data, does it mean that my chances are very high? Where did you find out this? I mean is it written in any book or in the nrmp website? Thanks.

hi, i dont mean to scare anyone, but i heard that last year, ppl got like 22 interviews, got 90's on step 1 and 2 and had green card and still didnt get matched.
just wanted to say u are not sure if u will get matched unless you know u did good at the interviews i guess.
