when you go to an interview, if the PD likes you, he will offer the same day or a few days later by email or phone to sign a contract with his program and withdrawn from the match. The good thing is...you have a job!! and the stressfull match process is over. The bad thing is...maybe you could end up in a better program in a later IV or in the match....but if you sign a prematch...that's it!!

how about if you changed your mind and cancel the prematch?

brainy, you got to make the tough decisions especially as a doctor and stick to them. Changing you mind is unethical unless in cases of absolute hardship.
The worst case scenario - A remark may be placed across you Id/last name in NRMP or elsewhere. That will hurt your fellowship or other career options. Very likely it may happen because you will be used as an example to prevent others from doing such things. NRMP was instituted to avoid circumstances that you are about to create. Good luck.

hi you might be very accurate, but pre-match is outside of match, which is NRMP in fact!
what do you think? |
