since ATIII IS ALREADY DEF hep has no site of action.... hence no change in pt/aptt.
Give heparin to person but no change in PT or PTT - eu_phoria

does hepa inhibit C/S??? I thought Warfarin does that.....!!!!

I mean if ATIII is already deficient, there should be prolonged PT or PTT, why use heparin.

i have read somewhere that ,nowadays we prefer low molecular weight heparin...which does not require PT/PTT monitoring. Pl give ur comment on this collegues...

u r right,,,most of the cardiac facilities hardly use UFH .... LMWH jus as fine wit fewer copli n no need for monitor PT

guys.. heparin doesnt inhibits anti thrombin III b ut activates it.. its ANTI THROMBIN...
Think if heparin inhibits it , it will be causing thrombus not dissolving it

that is rigth euphoria...but are we talking about low molecular wt (Exaparin or whatever ) or ususal heparin an dif so what is the differance again ?
