Step 3 preparation - endocarditis
#1
Hello frens
I am getting geared up for my step 3 preparation now.
What would be your advice for step 3 books. As far as my frens have told me most high yield books are:
Quickly review step 2 CK books, Start with Kaplan step 3 books and DVD and Qs. For the last month do UW. And if u have time do Swanson's.
Any suggestions regarding it? I have allocated max 2 months for it. Any other strategies?
Please advice guys, GL

Hi....

I think how to prepare for step 3 depends on how fresh is ur medicine knowledge....if u r in residency and/or just given step 2 CK before few months then u can just get away with step 2 CK notes.....but if it has been long time since u have been in touch with medicine then u may have to refer to some basic books before going for MCQs ...but my personal advise would be do as many MCQs as possible...it iwll clear ur concepts also and at the same tie u will have that "Feel" of the questions...so that u will be able to make an educated guess....UW is must.....and try to remeber all the explanation ..many Qs in real eam wud be directly related to that and the Difficulty level of the real exam wud be much like UW...u cn also do MCQs from Q bank or Q book for step 3 ...Q bank is little better then Q book....BUt what i have heard from this forum is people less prefer kaplan notes for step 3.....

Also concentrate more on ccs...do all cases of UW atleast twice and practise them on FSMB cd....

GL....
