Is Step 3 Harder than Step 1 and Step 2? -

Hi.. to those who have taken it or those who know. In your honest opinion.. Is Step 3 harder than the previous Steps? Meybe we can have a consensus for those who are looking forward like me to take Step 3. Thanks!

i do not know if its hard but it definitely needs lotta clinical exp in US, so read stuff well, common sense i guess.

i am in your boat preparing but i have some questions too.
do you have any idea about MALPRACTICE INSURANCE FOR EXTERNSHIP FOR IMG?

I think you have to pay for malpractice insurance as an extern. Because you will be handling patients directly. That's the reason why a lot of hospitals don't offer externships specifically because of this. You can check with Mt. Sinai. I hear they offer externships and maybe you can learn more about this malpractice insurance. You have to personally pay for it and it's pretty expensive I suppose.

step 3 is definitely not harder than step 1 or 2... but good clinical experience will help a lot, be it in the UK/ ireland or the US...i have never worked in the US..but managed to pass step 3 anyhow...so did a couple of ppl that i know..

having said all that..do not take it for granted though

what review method/materials did you use? and how much study time did you alot for step 3?

Step 3 is definitely harder than step 1 and step 2. I passed it early this year . Now i am settled and into residency. But do not take it lightly for it will haunt you until you pass it !

Actually Step 3 is easier than Step 1 and 2 if you have US clinical experience. There are a lot of questions that can't be learned from the books. That's the reason why USMLE recommends to take Step 3 after intership.
