Proper Diet offer nutritionist referral
Regular Blood sugar self monitoring
If alcoholic advice how imp it is to stop drinking due to high carbs in alcohol and increased risk of CV disease in Diabetics who drink
Regular eye exam
Regular feet exam, advise on proper fitted shoes and examining feet every day and keeping them clean and dry
Tell about signs of hypoglycemia and how to have some snacks with them always
If patient is taking a beta blocker do mention that hypoglycemia can be masked with them
It sounds long but it really doesnt take that long
