Recomended Schedule : Varicella vaccine bt 12 to 15 moths, booster dose bt 4-5 yrs (preschool).

In unvaccinated child, who exposed to pt should receive VZIG and vaccine.
New borns whose mother had chicken pox within 5 days before delivery to 48 hrs after delivery should receive VZIG.

.give to any immunocompetent pt without evidence of immunity i.e no previous hx of infection in the past or lack of documentation suggesting previous immunization(2 doses)
.children between 12-15months(1st vaccine)then 2nd vaccine at 4-6yrs
.pts with lack of immunity should have 2doses with an interval of 4weeks
.contacts of pts with chicken pox should be given within 72hrs
.health care workers and those in close contacts with susceptible pts
.those living with children
