i just found out that i scored 71% on the step 1 that i took on july 28th, very depressed and don't know where to start at this point. My original plan was for 2006 match. can someone please let me know if i can still make it for 2006, if i take step 2cs on the 18th of sept and also take both step 1 and 2 from oct to jan since i already registered for both steps( OCT- DEC) or is it impossible to make it for next year match. When will be the final time to work thru the ERAs. I started my ERAs application cus i thought i had done very well on step 1. my last question is if i decide to take the combo 6weeks each Kaplan live lecture, how long do i have to study right after the review before i can sit for the exam and how helpful are the step 1 and 2 live lectures. Please someone respond. I am so much in a hurry because of some family issues. Please help to answer my questions . thank you

consider a situation. imagine a kid playing ball for the first time. there is a certain chance that he'll fall and perhaps hurt himself. now judge for yourself, what will make him learn as well as enjoy the game?
sitting and howling in panic, waiting for mommy, or dust his knees and grab the ball again?
also, dont forget, if he is nervous he will not use intelligence. he'll just keep throwing the ball where ever he can, not where he must. but with confidence and interest, he'll get the hang of it quickly.
now apply this to yourself.
if in your second attempt, you dont do well, the reason will be not keeping your confidence, and not using smartness.
if you got a score, start with your weak areas - the good guys at the usmle result shop have done a lot of pre work for you. use it to the hilt.

I f you do a good studying 3 wks after step 1 live lecture(7 wks) and 3 wks after step 2 live lectures(6 wks), we are talking about 19 wks almost 5 months with extras, and you need at least 3 wks to prepare for CS , six months,that is my best efficient advice but Its almost impossible to get into the 2006 match, you need a good score to erase that 71, chillout take it easy and start again, dont do heroic attemps, you should be thinking in 2007, that is my best advice, a real winner is the one that fall and get up again, God(the one that you like) bless you GL
