I want to know,if doing prelim IM can help me get a categorical position later on? Are there PGY2 openings in IM? I want to apply again in cat IM,so will this be better than doing obshps etc?

doing a prelim year should help you in all ways because you are getting US clinical experience, however I am pretty sure that scoring a prelim spot in IM is way more difficult than actually getting the categorical. I'd just apply directly for categorical
hope this helps

Hey thanks guys,adrian and juan!
Is it like,if you do a prelimin year you cannot apply for a categorical position PGY1 again next year? Saw this topic on this forum, last year s discussion! so wondering! |
