hi, Read Kaplan for all subjects except Patho. Patho read Goljan (also try to listen to his Audios). First Aid. And of course Questions Questions Questions. So far I know Usmle World to be the best source of Qs. You can read other peoples suggestions, but those are mine. Good Luck. Remember to Keep revising revising revising!

NBME is a self-assesment test. there are a total of 7 i believe. dont worry about those right now. Just study first and when you feel your prepared or you want to see how prepared you are. Take the NBME (national board of medical examiners)

I think its a great idea to aim for step one after your medical school and probably the best time is to start going through the books now coz it will help your way through med school as well. PLz plz plz plz make sure that you get First Aid for USMLE step 1 2011 edition and its online corrections. You can download them both for free from google.com. It is the absolute thing that you need to know. If you memorize that, i can guarantee that you will pass in decent marks. Going through kaplan series is also a good idea but first aid needs to be memorized inside out and i actually mean it. I am practically doing that for me exam in two weeks from now. Along side you should also do the online Kaplan Q bank and the USMLE Q bank. and thats it really. Once you feel that you have a good grasp of the material and are able to solve the questions, then closer to the exam you should polish yourself with 15 online tests in total that very closely simulate the actual USMLE exam, they give you an estimate predictive score. You can then think of improving that furthur if you do not feel satisfied. I will not be on this forum for that long as i only have 10 days to go but the rest here will help you. Just in case i will tell you the test....

1) NBME forms from 1-12. All are available for free online along with the answers that you can download except for NBME 7 that you will have to buy.
2) USMLE assessment forms 1 and 2 that have to be bought online. No free version available for downloading Sad
3) USMLE.org free test online.

So 15 tests in total.

All the best!!!
