I was silent observer on this forum. I read MTB 2x, UWorld 3x- avg. 58%, UWSA -220, NBME- over 400, did Dr Red CCS workshop 2x.... my real score was 218....I am glad I'm done. I ask PD about score, they are looking at score according to old system and now no 2 digit score on transcript!!!

lavoix...it does impact your application...e.g. you have two candidates- one with step 3 and one without...they will take the person with step 3 as long as they scored over 200. If you score under 200 or fail, then you are done!!!
aashi81 and mission..... For CCS I did Dr Red CCS review. I thought he gives a good foundation for how to approach the cases, but you have to study and know the material to do well. I almost got star on CCS for high performance, but know where my mistake was. UW also provides good cases. In the end, know the material and you will be fine.
stefanbg.... I took nbme 3 weeks before my exam.
I hope this helps!!!

Hussein, first of all congrats on your passing
I dont think that Step 3 has a strong impact on your residency match. Alot of programs do not require Step 3 for it, because residents usually take it in their first 2 years. So I dont think that even failing any of the steps automatically disqualifies you from residency, there are other factors that are important.
