u need to register on nrmp and eras both if u want to scramble. coz in case u r counting on a friend who is participatng in the match and he gets the match he wont receive the unfilled list so i think its not worth risking ur career just for 100 bucks. as far as eras is concerned now most of the programs prefer ERAS in scramble coz its much easier for them and fax machines are busy so guys in case u r planning to go for scramble just register for both and call average programs first even if your scores are really good as University programs will look for AMGs or ppl they have interviewed who did not match. i learned this the hard way. best of luck guys
