If encounter with right shoulder joint pain or swelling, still you go head and shake had or not?

examination proceedings and labs?

Quite frankly, one does not have to shake anyones hand in order to be accommodating, or polite. It would be nice since this is a culture of handshaking.

Scenario: Lets assume that you have your clipboard in one hand, and stethescope on the other,..................... I am sure that you get my drift.

Why would you want to shake any pt's hand if he is holding the painful arm with the other one. Which is usually the way these kind of pts come anyway.

Your tone of voice, and the empathy that you show ought to do the job more than gesture.

I had a left shoulder pain in my xam, i explained tp tthe SP that i would have like to shake his hand but would rather not on account of causing him more pain.He seemed to be okay with that.Just be empathic and apologise evertime he winces.
