what is the Rx of choice in 65 old dibetic patient?

a,Gleevac,

b.bone transplant.

c.alpha interferon

gleevac
marrow transplant done for <60 yrs,
between interferon and gleevac ,gleevac is more specific , though earlier we used to give interferon first,

so for exam ,if no gleevac in choices-interferon
if given -choose gleevac

--right glevac is a good choice ----even bone marrow transplantation come only after it fails after 6 month of treatment--

other treatment --hydroxyurea

alphafetoprotein will have more side effect

if elderly.no bone marrow donar,.unhealty ..medical rx.GLEEVEC is #1.
if gleevec not in ans choice choose iNTERFERON.....hydroxyluria not longer use(donot worry).


if young ,Donar present.....choose BONE MARROW TRANSPLANT.
