this thought just came into mind.....this is not a question from any q.bank......PREGNANT WOMAN COME TO UR OFFICE-SHE IS HIGH RISK FOR HIV(IV DRUG ABUSER,MULTIPLE SEXUAL PARTNER)U ENCOURAGE HER FOR HIV TESTING,BUT SHE DENIED,U RESPECT HER WISH...SHE DELIVERED A CHILD....NOW U WANT THE CHILD'S STATUS TO EXAMINE FOR HIV BUT MOTHER DENIES(SOUND CRUEL YET)WHAT WILL YOU DO?WILL YOU TEST THE BABY OR WONT?

yes....becoz 9 months over...actually if no urgent Cx ...get court order

till delivery mom has right to refuse...once baby is born & conflicts of intrests for life saving Dz Rx..go 2 court

It's life threatining but not an emergent situation.

i think nothing should be done here .. you cant make an HIV positive baby HIV negative .. besides we are just the waiters in this hotel of patients.. we present the menu and the people decide

so one should let the nature take its course and let the baby present with oral cadidiasis sometime later( we cant even start the treatment before the cd4 count drops below 350/mm3) and lets not disturb the courts as they have alot already on their heads..
