again i dont know the answers this is just for discussion...(1)FEMALE PATIENT ,BIPOLAR,ON LITHIUM,WANT TO BECOME PREGNANT....WHAT WILL YOU DO?
(2)I READ SOMEWHERE THAT PATIENT HAS HYPOTHYROIDISM SECONDARY TO LITHIUM AND ANSWER WAS CONTINUE LITHIUM WITH WITH t4 REPLACEMENT........MY THOUGHT IS CAN WE DISCONTINUE IT AND REPLACE IT WITH CARBAMAZEPINE OR OTHER ALTERNATIVE ?

For the second question, we don't discontinue a drug that controls well the disease. In case of hypothyroidism we just administer thyroxine. Is it carbamazepin approved for maintenance in BPD?

well lithium has to be gone......ebstein malformation
for the second ...we wont suspend lituium if it is working...we just add levothyroxin or synthroid
