how do you differentiate? how do you treat?

basal cell=shiny or pearly...mohs surgery.
squamous cell=(+) ulceration....surgery.

also can be differentiates at time by location

BASAL CELL CANCER--->MC typeof skin ca.Present as raised waxy lesion or pearly,shiny or non healing ulcer.Present in upper part of face.Doesnot metastasize and kill by local invasion(rodent ulcer).Diagnosis by skin biopsy.Treat by local excision with negative margins(1mm).

SQUAMOUS CELL CANCER--->2nd MC skin ca,non healing ulcer.Present in lower part of face.Can metastasize.Diagnose by skin biopsy.Treat by excision with wider margins(0.5 -2cm) .If LN ivolve do node dissection too.Can give radiation also.
