Some helpful info for those who are moving -

Hi everyone

Here is a few tit-bits I have gleaned over the past few months about relocating costs-

"First Aid for the match" reccommends spending between 2-4 days at the new place you will be living looking for an apartment to rent or buy- it also reccomends talking to the'interns' etc about accomodation options

If you decide to buy- DON"T USE A MORTGAGE BROKER- I was told this buy a mortgage broker!!- b'cos you pay middle-man commision
She recomended going straight to the major banks- for example Bank of America has a Premier Banking Division that gives Physicians mortages rates HALF A PERCENT LOWER THAN OTHER PLACES

If you intend to buy and sell in under 5 years - think about a 5/1 ARM - which will give you lower monthly payments.

Hope this helps some people- My quote from Bank of America really was great

You'll have to rent b'cos it not worthwhile buying and selling in one year- you have $2-3000closing costs and 6% of sell price when you sell the apartment.

Rent is crazy in Manhatten- you might want to try Brooklyn, Bronx or Queens- maybe hospital has accomodation
Sorry I can't be more helpful
