1..check for the wound whether it is just 1cm cut withuot devitalized tissue & the wound is less than 6hrs old give Tetanus vaccine.
But if wound is blunt, 1 cm deep & devitalized tissue present,& wound is more than 6hrs old ---TT & TIG wound has to be cleaned first.. 2..U also have to take immunization history in kids. 3..we have to give GABA agonist like Diazepam(it is a a spasmolytic drug). becoz tetanus causes spastic paralysis 4..Antibiotics---Metronidazole & penicillin. 5..First Mx is ABC..keep the airway open, most imp-- pt has to be isolated .& he should be kept in dark room.. Taht's all I know.. anyone.wants to add more...????

I'm sorry guys....I'm not sure about keeping the pt in a dark room. Back in my country they do that..But I do not know whether they do it here or not....

I think keeping them in the dark room is just a precaution when this patient goes into frank tetany. any stimulus would cause spasm --> airway issues
