Succinylcholine (ScH) is used for relaxing muscles in patients. The advantage of SCH is its rapid onset of action and limited duration of action (order of minutes). This short duration of action is due to the activity of the cholinesterase. Should cholineesterase be deficient then there will be prolonged action of Sch.
