mistakes are allowed in case - magician2007

no single mistake can fail you. it is all about whole performance.

1, cannot finish several cases
2, do not do counseling
3, forget to ask several Qs
4, wrong DD or workup

but following minor points could fail you if you are/do not
1, be nice
2, knock door, wash hands, drape
3, call SP by last name
3, do eye, mouth...exam before foot exam.

i know someone who took cs last aug. she called sps by first names and two sps were very angry with her:" how can you call me by first name?". she failed CIS although her ICS was very high and has perfect english.

however, if you are likable, adorable, lovely, or whichever word, some Sps may actually like being called by first name if your encounters were pleasant for SPs.

what is the response when you call sp by fisrt name?

well from what i have heard and read the rule of thumb is that if you introduce you self by telling ur first name then u can take the patients first name too , if you introduce youself with ur last name then you will take patients last name too
any how i mostly used the patients first name as did most of the candidates taking the exam with me and the response of the SP was pretty ok
Even if you note in the videos of UW the doc responds to the paitent by taking his first name
anybody has any suggestion on this?

well i guess to be on the safe side it would be better to use the last name
but im sure about it that if you are using you first name you should do same for the patient
i would really like some responses on this for the ppl who are taking their exam soon
