woman? - zarah
#1
A 30-year-old woman presents to her primary care physician with tingling and numbness in her extremities, ocular disturbances and clumsiness. The symptoms are episodic, tending to come and go over the past several months. Upon questioning, her family history is found to be positive. Her 56-year-old mother has similar symptoms, which began at the age of 50. A 32-year-old sister and a 48-year-old maternal uncle also show similar symptoms that have only recently begun. Her maternal grandfather died at the age of 65 following a short but severe undiagnosed illness. An MRI and electrical impulse tests show normal findings. Based on the symptoms and the family history, the most probable diagnosis would be

A Multiple sclerosis
B Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis
C Beckers muscular dystrophy
D Guillain-Barré syndrome
E Spinocerebellar ataxia
