ERAS is ruining my chances. AGAIN - fortabt1

What the H... is going on at ERAS?
Look how many times they have uploaded my docs.
How many times do they have to uploaded my docs before they get it right so the program can download it without having a problem!!!!!

i have the same problem in a few of my programs but not all,i wonder how it changes the prognosis,if at all??!!

I dont see how that ruins ur chances.ERAS where not prepared for the unprecedented number of applications they have received at this time.There is something going on there and I would imagine programs are aware of it,so dont worry.

I sent 4 LoRs together in the same envelope as my med school transcript and photo.
Med school transcript, photo and 2 LORS were uploaded last night.

It's 24hours later and the other 2 still haven't been uploaded as yet.
How can it take so long????

God forbid they lost my LORS!!

they have not lost them,just give it time,they will surface.

Haidon...this has all the potential to ruin your chances. Dont forget that not all applicants apply through ecfmg office of eras. The american graduate's deans offices are working fine..and all programs offer a limited no of interview calls only....so just think how would it be if somebody applied on sep 1 but could not get an interview because the program could download the full application only on sep 25 because of repeated problems at eras!!! Does that strike you now !?

And as far as the program's awareness is concerned...they are too busy to be concerned. You think they would sympathize with an IMG who was striken by ill luck and offer him an interview in consolation??? come on...talk real life man !!

Why is a Personal Statement or letter of recommendation listed as being sent many times for one program when I only sent it once?


It is totally normal for a document to be sent to a program more than once. ERAS believes in reporting all details of your application transmissions. Therefore, if we transmitted a document multiple times to a program, we want you to know the full details. Some of the reasons are:
A Profile will be resent to applied to programs anytime you update any field in Profile.

Letters can be resent if your Dean's Office scans in a second version, re-scans to make the document "crisper", or uploaded a second copy.

The ERAS Post Office will resend a document if it is believed that there were problems with the first transmission - our motto is better safe than sorry.

Sometimes, if there was a problem with the download of one or more of your files, we will requeue all your files for download - ERAS, as an electronic method of delivery, refuses to be like email, where a bounce is acceptable.

Sometimes, a program will request to have files resent due to local computer problems they may have experienced.

When documents are resent, they replace any files that are currently there, programs will not have to wade through 2 - 3 copies of your Personal Statement or Letter - they will only see one, the one that you requested transmitted!

Common Application Forms Like the other files, CAFS can be resent because there may have been problems with the transmission.
