a 10 yr old boy is brought to the ER by his mother 'cause he has lost consciousness while playin in the yard. he regained his consciousness quickly without followin confusion. he never had such an episode before. his past medical history is significant for impaired hearing since birth and one episode of pneumonia 3 yrs ago which req hospitalization. F/H is significant for a sudden cardiac death, in his cousin at the age of 13. P/E is unremarkable. BP 110/70 HR 70 , regular. which of the followin medication is most appropriate for this pt.

a. propranolol
b. diazepam
c. verapamil
d. ethosuximide
e. quinidine

jln syndrome, treat with b-blockers
there is also romano ward syndrome but it is without deafness

romano ward is the same as JLN i.e long QT, syncope, predispositin to sudden dealth, family history etc. but there is no congenital deafness, treatment is same
