**CK Vs CS** - premnath
#1
Hello everybody,

Is it better to take CS before CK? Does CK knowledge useful in CS?
Is 20 days preparation enough to take CS without CK knowledge ?

Thanks

Kaplan CS course is only for 5 days. So, one week should be enough for CS.

There is no relation between CS and CK. One of my friend got 92 in CK, and failed in CS first attempt.

From my limited experience, i think it is better to take CK before CS as the knowledge you gain from preparing for CK readily comes in handy for CS e.g. getting the differential diagnosis right and the labwork. However, if you already graduate from medical school and you have a lot of experience and knowledge through your interactions with patients, you could handle CS before CK ( I did and pass both step 2 CK and CS while still a med. student as i will be graduating this week and there is no way i would have pass CS w/o taking CK 1st).
The lenght of period for preparation depends on how many hours per day you can devote to studying and practising for CS. If you have a reliable practising/studying partner, 20 days should be adequate. GL
