Prematched-have OPT and H1 Options--Which is good? - newbride

I am prematched but I have OPT till Dec, 2007. Hospital is willing to sponsor H1. Should I take H1 directly or first join on OPT and then take H1 from Dec??

OPT is useful to save taxes. It is always better to have H1 as early as possible.

dont take H1,start your H1 processing 3-4 months before OPT expires.You will save 6 months of Social secruity tax and other funny tax,start with your OPT

yes taking OPT now and delaying the H1 will give more cushion time after ur residency to look for job or to get into fellowship
