How important is board pass rate for ranking the program?
Y community programs have very low pass rates as compared to university programs?

interesting point mossad, but who said that all IMG's are beggars......granted all IMG's are at a slight disadvantage...and to some extent begging...but not to point where you grab which ever bone is thrown your way. There is some room for manuevering....

I think it means nothing. Board passing is entirely your problem. At your age, you don't expect someone to help you to pass exam. How sure are you to pass the exam if you have joined a program with good board passing rates??

don't worry about passing rates while ranking.

In peds, Board pass rates of the community programs r in the range of 20 - 60%.
But for the university programs , it is 70% - 95%.

If it depends entirely on the individual, will there b such a big difference?
Does it reflect the academics?? or the clinical exposure??

well I dont see a demarcation as you just proposed.

some universities are doing as bad as community hospitals

Board passing rates just reflect the quality of residents they have for that year.
