is this a good time to contact PD? - 20072007

and ask about the possible ranking position by the program?? Or better wait till end of this month?
Any comments. I was told it is good to contact PD before ranking and tell them "I would rank you on top, where I stand in your list" bla bla
How you guys think?

I will be emailing all the programs and tell them they are my #1, starting next week. I will not ask their ranking on me because I know these Univ pgms won't reply.

It is considered illegal to ask the other party (in this case, the program) about their intentions on ranking. You can always tell them that you plan to rank the very highly. If they decide to answer and tell you their intentions, that's fine, but you cannot request such information.
