Fellowship after FM residency ???? - masmn

Based on this should a person choose univ prog or community prog. what are the pros and cons of FM univ prog and comm prog.
Any body pls. This info will help all the FM people.

you're limited in the FM fellowship options. Women's care, sports medicine, geriatrics, things like that.

im not familiar with FM fellowships that much, you should probably do a search, but i believe there is a path toward EM.

as a matter of fact you don't have to be EM trained to work in the ER. I know many FM, IM guys "moonlighting" in ED's all the time. As far as board certification you will need to have formal residency training.

this is the site you can find everything about FM. You can go for ER practice, you dont need to do ER fellowship for practice as a ER physician. when you work for 5 year as ER physician, you will eligible for ER physician liscence. But you might not get ER job in big cities but you can get it in small town hospital. Good luck
