After immunization with tetanus toxoid, the first B-cell clones to produce anti-tetanus antibody produce IgM antibody. Later, especially after a ˜booster™ immunization, B-cell clones appear which produce anti-tetanus IgG. The ˜class switch™ which results in this change takes place in
