i heard bad things about nymc. it is better than the other nyc sweat shops. caritas seems mediocre. newark is not the best area. dunno much about ur others. prehaps u guys can critique my list:

i dont know much about all the big programs, but i feel that creighton is better than any other. i personally prefer doing psych in big cities as you get lots of exosure to addiction psych and severly sick mentally ill cases, which is hard to find in other places. in psych getting residecy is the only hurdle, once u get in, getting fellowship is not all thata tough. my uncle is a psychiatrist in new vermot and he says that psychs from big cities do better than others, not just in practice wise but also interms of salary and money wise. and he also said that dartmouth does not have a good acute mania care facility and it does not have a lock in facility.so my sole criterion has been this. big city prog vs others. because for psych this matters a lot. my 2cents.

exactly. i agree with you.
and with bg city you will be also able to establish contacts through referaals and conferences which will help u a lot in the long run. ex. ellowships and jobs

if you could get into rochester and dartmouth then it would be great. they are both known as top programs. i heard that creighton is good also but for amgs, one of my friends said that they kicked out a guy last year because he was not competent enough. but its upto you, what you like and where u want to be.
