Dir sir/madam,

Your hostility, irritability and emotional lability do not leave you alone, so my suggestion is help and at least contribute to yourself to evaluate your state of mind,

Good luck DOC,

Hi uterus,...Here is what I found, that's what u needed?

http://www.aao.org/education/library/recommendations/upload/Diabetic-Retinopathy-Disease-Severity-Scale.pdf

1- mild non-proliferative = microaneurysms only
2- moderate non-proliferative = more than microaneurysms but less than severe NPDR,
3- severe non-proliferative= Any of the following:
¢ >20 microaneurysms in each 4 quadrants
¢ definite venous beading in >2 quadrant
¢ prominent intra-retinal microvascular abnormalities in >1 quadrant
¢ no signs of proliferation
4 Proliferative diabetic retinopathy =One or both of the following:

yes amatista, thanks

So just to summarize:

Background retinopathy is the earliest stage which is present as microaneurysms, hemorrhages, exudates, edema

Pre-proliferative - cotton wool spots

Proliferative- newly formed vessels
